Choosing a topic for your dissertation (or final year research project) might be difficult task for you. 1- Select a topic that you find interesting
Your dissertation or research project is not a days or week task, it will may take months to complete, so it’s extremely important to choose your dissertation topic according to your area of interest with the subject you are studying

It’s important to choose a unique topic for your project or dissertation to ensure that you have the opportunity to carry out your own research and come to your own conclusions. Finding a completely unique area of research is quite difficult, but you can also choose an already existing researched area and work with a different angle or you can also derive a new and unique idea from a topic which is already been used for research by someone else
3-Don’t be too distracted
A dissertation or research project must be a tightly-written. Choosing a topic that is too broad might be difficult for you to cover the topic fully in the word count allowed, and sit extremely difficult to draw brief and correct conclusions. So don’t go with a wide research topic
4-Don’t be too narrow
Remember, your dissertation should be having enough word count. Focusing on a topic or question that is too small or narrow means that you will struggle to expand on your project and to go toward a good conclusion. Similarly, when you are writing out your proposal, make sure you don’t select a question that can be answered with a simple “yes” or “no”.
